Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn (born in America) is an American actress. Her most well-known role is her part as Skyler White on Breaking Bad, an AMC drama series Breaking Bad for which she received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting actress in the Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. She also appeared in Jean Ward in The Practice, and Martha Bullock in Deadwood. Born in Sante Fe, New Mexico in the year 1968, Anna Gunn fell in love with the art of acting at the Preparatory School she attended before her family relocated to Ohio during the latter part of 1970. She did theatre studies at Northwestern University, and spent an entire semester at the British American Drama Academy. Anna began her career in Chicago, working in theatre role for several years. Then she moved to Hollywood where she started acting in TV shows and films. In 1992, Anna got her first major part in the role of Arden in 29 episodes of Down the Shore. Anna continued to appear in movies and television shows like Seinfeld, NYPD Blue and others until late 1990's. She was then placed in The Practice as Jean Ward. Martha Bullock, a character she played for two years in Deadwood's second season. Skyler is the character she played in her Breaking Bad role from 2008. Sully and Deadwood was also an integral part of her work. Gunn has also appeared on the stage to play in the David Schwimmer-directed production of Sex With Strangers. Gunn also appeared in the audio drama podcast series of four parts The Numbered Days series, which made available in 2022. The relationship with Walter White and his wife Skyler is the most prominent element of the narrative on Breaking Bad with the strained connection between them and the eventual end of their relationship echoing the same storyline of Walter White's last years of his life.
