Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British-American sitar player and music artist. She was awarded the British House of Commons' Shield, which is the youngest and first female recipient. Alongside nine Grammy nominations and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the first musician of Indian origin to perform in the live ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was an Indian young sitar star. She is Ravi Shankar's student as well as his daughter. Born in London and grew up in New Delhi, she spent the first few years of her life traveling between London as well as New Delhi. The first time she performed was in New Delhi when she was thirteen years old. Later she moved into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Even though she's very young Anouskha has an impressive performing and recording record. Since a while, she has been performing regularly with her father. The first album she released as a solo artist, Anourag, was released in 1998. The album was titled Live at Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album a year later. She has appeared at many important venues across the world. Anoushka Shankar's work isn't limited to the music industry. Bapi the Love of My Live, a biography of a picture that was written in tribute to her father Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. in 2003 she was a part on Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka is continuing to advance on her path and there will be many other things to be expected from this amazing woman. Anoushka Shakar was born in England lived the majority of her adult life in London Delhi. Following her move to California she finished high school. She began studying music at the age nine and was a sitar player in celebration of the 75th anniversary the birth of her father in Delhi the following year. Anoushka performed with her father throughout his global tour, gained an impressive number of experiences. When she was in her teens, she appeared in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. She was the youngest and only female recipient of the House of Commons Shield awarded by British Parliament to recognize her talent and musical ability as a preeminent musician of music in Asian Arts.
